Lady Elizabeth Anson was born on 7th June 1941 in Windsor, Berkshire, daughter of the late Viscount Anson and the late HRH Princess Anne of Denmark. She is a cousin of the Queen, a great niece of the late Queen Mother and the late King George VI was her Godfather. Her late brother, the celebrated photographer Patrick Lichfield, was 5th Earl of Lichfield. Lady Elizabeth was educated in England and France, and set up Party Planners in 1960.
Party Planners is the longest running such company and has built up a reputation over the years for helping with the organisation of any type of party, whether large or small, grand or simple, private or corporate; from tea parties to large dances, fashion shows to charity balls. It uses tried and trusted sub-contractors to suit the individual client.
Lady Elizabeth has written a book called “Lady Elizabeth Anson’s Party Planners Book” which was published in 1986 by Weidenfeld and Nicholson. The book draws on Lady Elizabeth’s extensive experience in the entertainment field and is a complete guide to party planning. Lady Elizabeth married the late Sir Geoffrey Shakerley Bt., on 27th July 1972 in Westminster Abbey, and HRH Princess Anne was her bridesmaid. They were divorced in 2009, they had one daughter.
